Ginger Gold

Why you should be excited:

Ginger Gold is what Golden Delicious dreams of being: beautiful, tasty and good after time in storage.

apple_gingergold.jpgThe story of Ginger Gold:

Every apple has its unique story and Ginger Gold’s offers one of the best.

Imagine cleaning up after a horrific hurricane (Camille, 1969), working your way through a devastated orchard. Amidst the carnage, you find a little seedling apple tree growing.

To Clyde Harvey of Lovingston, Virginia, this is what happened and it’s how he discovered Ginger Gold, which Clyde was smart enough to not rip out. And once he realized how great this new apple variety was, he named it after his wife, Ginger.

Even if this wasn’t a beautiful and delicious yellow apple, the story alone is enough to make you want to give Ginger Gold a try. It's tasty and it stores well.
